Laura Flanagan was born in
Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1969 and raised in North Smithfield. She and her
husband, Michael, purchased their home in Coventry in September of 2002. The
couple have two children, Andrew, 18, and Kirstin, 16. Andrew is a 2008
graduate of Coventry High School, pursuing a career in the United States Air
Force. Kirstin will be a Junior at Coventry High School in the fall and is a
gymnast at Rita Beaulieu Gymnastics.
Professionally, Laura works as a financial advisor where she is an advocate for
individuals and businesses bringing value to her clients through tailored,
comprehensive financial plans, helping each client reach their short and
long-term goals, while identifying and minimizing their exposure to risk. Prior
to beginning her profession as a financial advisor, Laura spent over 15 years
assisting corporate lawyers in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with residential
and commercial lending, corporate, venture capital and private equity
transactions, primarily with the law firms of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge and
Partridge Snow & Hahn, both in Providence.
Laura received her Associate of Science in Business Administration, Summa Cum
Laude and Bachelor of Science in Financial Services, Summa Cum Laude (with
highest honors), from Johnson and Wales University. She is currently pursuing
the designation of Certified Financial Planner at Bryant University in
Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Laura is a past member of the Rhode Island
Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (RIAIFA), the U.S. Women’s
Chamber of Commerce and of the Women’s Association of Venture & Equity, Inc
(WAVE). She is the co-founder and past President and Vice President of LiveWire
Network, Inc. Laura holds certification in Long Term Care (CLTC designation),
Series 7, Series 66 and Life, Accident and Health licenses. She is
registered in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York and Tennessee. Her primary
charitable contributions support the United Way of Rhode Island.
In her free time, Laura enjoys biking,
gardening, swimming, reading and relaxing with her family & friends.
